DE: Das hier ist Bob. Er ist in Artland gestrandet, nach einem Leben, das er in den trüben Gewässern Londons verbracht hat. Macht hier schon seit Ewigkeiten Musik und hat in Bands wie Cliff Barnes and the Fear of Winning (legendär!), Surplus Stock, den Illegal Artists (frag lieber nicht) oder sogar ganz bodenständig im Artland Country Club gespielt. Ja, Bob ist ein einfacher Typ, nur er, seine Klampfe und eine Stimme, die dich auf einen staubigen Americana-Highway mitnimmt, selbst wenn du in Quakenbrück festsitzt. Man munkelt, er sei ein ziemlicher Fahrradfreak, und ich hab gehört, er gehört zum Team von Carry Freedom – den Leuten, die diese abgefahrenen Fahrradanhänger bauen.
Aber du willst wissen, was er so auf den Äther schickt, oder? Nun, schalt ein bei „The Dance Ersatz“ und halt dich fest, denn deine Ohren werden gekitzelt, geohrfeigt und vielleicht sogar ein bisschen verwirrt, aber auf die bestmögliche Weise. Bob haut einen wilden Mix aus Soul, Worldbeats, Rockhymnen und einfach nur VERRÜCKTEM Zeug raus. Ehrlich gesagt, diese ganze Radio Art.Land-Sache? Das war Bobs verrückte Idee, und er genießt jede einzelne Minute davon.
This is Bob. He washed up on the shores of Artland after a life swimming in the murky waters of London. Been slingin’ guitars and belting out tunes in these parts for ages, you might’ve caught him with Cliff Barnes and the Fear of Winning (legendary!), Surplus Stock, the Illegal Artists (don’t ask), or even gettin’ his country on with the Artland Country Club. Yeah, Bob’s a simple kinda guy, just him, his six-string, and a voice that’ll take you cruisin’ down some dusty Americana highway, even if you’re stuck in Quakenbrück. Word on the street is he’s a bit of a bike freak too, and last I heard, he’s part of the crew behind Carry Freedom – those folks makin’ those killer bicycle trailers.
But you wanna know about the noise he makes on the airwaves, right? Well, tune into “The Dance Ersatz” and prepare for your ears to be tickled, slapped, and maybe even a little bit confused in the best way possible. Bob throws down a wild mix of soul, world beats, rock anthems, and just plain WEIRD stuff. Truth be told, this whole Radio Art.Land thing? That was Bob’s crazy idea, and he’s buzzin’ off every single minute of it.

Radio Artland läuft inzwischen seit etwa 5 Jahren. Angefangen haben wir in einer Bar, die während der Corona-Zeit geschlossen war — als Möglichkeit, mit Menschen in Kontakt zu bleiben, die sich nicht persönlich treffen konnten. Seitdem sind wir mit großartigen DJs, einer Vielfalt an Stilen und Genres und — vor allem — einer fantastischen Hörergemeinschaft gewachsen.

Radio Artland has now been running for about 5 years. We started in a bar that was closed during Covid — as a way to stay connected with people who couldn’t meet up in person. Since then, we’ve grown with wonderful DJs, a variety of styles and genres, and — most importantly — a fantastic listening community.
